A whimsical battle-axe motif brooch and earring set from Coro. The brooch is an axe blade and handle, with royal blue rhinestones on the blade and white baguette rhinestones set in the handle. The clip-on earrings are just the blades, set with blue stones. The gilded sterling silver set is signed "Sterling" and with "Ster Pat. 1967965." The patent number references the style of clip-on earring back Coro is known for. Fierce and fun. Circa 1940.

Emanuel Cohn and Carl Rosenberger established the New York accessories boutique Coro in 1901. Coro purchased a manufacturing facility in Providence, Rhode Island, in 1929, which became the world's largest costume jewelry facility.
