So very Victorian, this elaborate brooch is a little stunner. The brooch is very similar in size and shape to a bar pin, with a light and airy arrow, sword hilt, and star forms cast in 14k gold. A sparkling paste gem is set at the heart of the eight-armed star. Crisp engraved details elevate the piece to a tiny work of art. The piece secures with a classically Victorian c-clasp. Circa 1890.
Paste gems are leaded glass gems formed in molds and then polished to resemble diamonds or gemstones. With better quality pastes, facets could even be cut and polished like natural gems. Circa 1890.
Details..... The brooch measures 2.04" by .36". In Very Good Antique Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels; we consider it part of the charm.
